BLS/CPR Instructor Training
BLS/CPR Instructor Training refers to a course that prepares qualified individuals to become certified instructors in Basic Life Support (BLS)—a set of life-saving techniques including CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), AED (automated external defibrillator) use, and care for choking got adults, children and infants.
BLS Instructor Training covers:

How to teach BLS/CPR courses (both for healthcare professionals and the general public)

Adult learning principles and effective communication
-
How to evaluate students’ skills and provide feedback
-
How to use AHA course materials
-
Administrative tasks, like managing course rosters and issuing course completion cards

Training Requirements
To qualify for BLS Instructor Training:

Must be at least 18 years of age
-
Have a non-expired BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) (If do not have can be provided at a discounted price of $30)
-
Complete the registration form below
-
Must have current BLS Provider certification and BLS Instructor Essentials certificate prior to scheduled class

Alignment with a training center

Observation session
After Certification:
Once certified, a BLS/CPR Instructor can:

Teach BLS Provider and Heartsaver CPR/AED courses
-
Certify others in BLS (with oversight from a Training Center)

Renew their own instructor status every 2 years (typically)
